Our new young entrepreneur Francisca Zimmermann from the Netherlands arrived in Spain this month for her EYE exchange with Victoria Carreras in Granada.

Francisca is currently in the middle of a career change. Coming from a background in criminology, she recently started working towards a career in digital marketing while pursuing her dream of starting a small jewellery design business.

Over the past years, Francisca started realizing that the creative aspect was missing in her daily life and that – because of her love for travel – a more location independent lifestyle would be something she would love to pursue. Since this realization, she has been fully focused on her goals of implementing these aspects into her life.

Many courses and several work projects allowed her to slowly become more familiar with the world of digital marketing, while being able to work from anywhere in the world as a so called ‘digital nomad’. The developments towards a more flexible and location independent way of working fascinate her!

During her recent travels in India, Francisca spent time at one of Goa’s many jewellery workshops, where she managed to further develop her silversmithing skills and kept growing her love for this trade.

Francisca’s discovery of the EYE program, and even more her connection with Victoria and her business, came at the perfect moment for her. Victoria’s business (Anda Cowork) is a beautiful co-working space in Granada, with the main aim to offer a lovely environment for ‘digital nomads’ to work from, while visiting or living in Granada. Victoria’s business is fully focused on promoting the shift towards a more flexible way of working, which matches Francisca’s passion for this subject perfectly. Victoria is currently busy focusing on connecting with the creative sector in Granada, to welcome more artists and ‘makers’ to her space, which could help Francisca a lot in building her network in Spain. How lucky are these two to have found each other?!

In the coming four months, Francisca will help Victoria further develop her marketing strategy and work towards a more international orientation of her business. Meanwhile, Victoria will help Francisca growing her jewellery design business, ‘Maria Francisca’. She will help out with the practical sides of running a business and will help building a network of both fellow jewellery designers and potential customers.

Both Victoria and Francisca are incredibly excited about this collaboration and thankful for the wonderful opportunity Erasmus offers them.
