January News on Forbes 30under30 and European Capital of Culture Leeuwarden, lastest Figures&Facts and Events across Europe

On January 26 Leeuwarden, the European Capital of Culture 2018, started with an opening ceremony at De Harmonie city theatre. The story behind Leeuwarden 2018 is “all about cultural crossovers cocktails of the past and present, of country and city, between artists and scientists. Art is not just the goal, but the means.” Its aim is nothing less than “bringing about change in the province, country and Europe in order to go from a community to an open community.“
Leeuwarden is almost embracing the buzz words of the digital startup community, but maybe it is an interesting concept: A province like a startup ?!

Simultaneously on January 25 the European Institute for Innovation and Technology announced that nine innovators and young entrepreneurs were listed on Forbes 30under30Tibor Navracsics, European Commissioner for Education, Culture, Youth and Sport and the Commissioner responsible for the EIT, said: ‘Another year, another wonderful success for the EIT Community. I am proud that this prestigious list acknowledges young entrepreneurs who have been supported by the EIT in boosting their competences and turning their ideas into innovations that benefit all of us. We must step up our efforts to enable young Europeans to develop entrepreneurial mind-sets and make the most of their lives. This is key in building a resilient, competitive Europe for the future‘.

We at ECBN believe that the real next big key for an entrepreneurial future in cultural creative sectors is the cross innovation key: what if „all about crossover“ meets „all about innovation“, if “open community” meets “European innovators“ not by accident, but by strategic foresight !?

Again this newsletter informs you about Cross-Innovation to raise awareness that the real potentials of cultural creative entrepreneurs are yet to come.
