CO-CREATE is a European cooperation project that will create and distribute a brand new curriculum on co-design: a set of valuable design skills that has gained increased relevance in recent years and can no longer be ignored. The curriculum will allow education institutions across Europe to provide their students with all the hands-on knowledge they will need to apply this process to their future professional practice.
The term co-design describes an approach to design that attempts to actively involve all stakeholders (e.g. employees, partners, customers, citizens, end users) in the design process to thus ensure the result meets their needs and is ultimately usable. This brings about a great range of benefits for their product or service such as a better fit to the customer’s needs, profitability or brand loyalty.
Our curriculum will combine cutting edge design theory with hands-on knowledge and hands-on examples taken from currently live co-design successes. The course will be accessible for free to any educational institution wishing to implement it in their programme, and will include both study materials and coaching to the teacher.
CO-CREATE has been made possible with the aid of European funding, made available through the Erasmus+ framework. It is an initiative of six partners committed to supporting the creative industries sector across Europe: Creative Region (Austria), University of Art and Design (Austria), Lifestyle & Design Cluster (Denmark), Deusto University (Spain), Creative Industries Kosice (Slovakia) and the European Creative Business Network.
